Question by jkshack: What are some lucrative recession proof careers?
I’m at a career change and was wondering; What are some lucrative, recession proof careers? I’ve got a BS in Environmental Science, but I’m open to anything, what about some service careers such as plumber, electrician ?

Do you have the training or are you able to take time and money for the training? Plumber and electrician are always needed, but with home building down it may be harder to get a start. Still, if you do a good job you’ll soon earn a reputation, especially if you can apprentice with a plumber or electrician with a good reputation. People may not build new but they have to have repairs.
Isn’t environmental science in big demand now? Maybe not lucrative unless you are into the engineering end, though.
How are you at training or sales? Good trainers or salesmen usually make good money.
